The Jailhouse Inn is Newport’s actual historic jail and police station but, rest assured, our guestrooms are not cell-like in the least. The interior of this handsome brick building has been reconfigured to offer a variety of spacious sleeping arrangements with modern conveniences. All 23 guest rooms at the Jailhouse are “hotel style” with private baths, air-conditioning, flat screen TV, mini-refrigerator, iron, hair dryer and top-quality mattresses, linens and toiletries.
The difference between Deluxe, Superior and Premier rooms is generally size and location within the building. Deluxe rooms are on the first floor, Superior rooms are on the second floor, and Premier rooms are on the third floor. Premier rooms are our largest and often have elements of architectural interest such as dormers or skylights.
